The candidates we elected in 2018 are now in office. The 116th Congress and 45 state legislatures have convened, and statewide officials have been sworn in and inaugurated.
Now that we have elected them (whether we voted for them or not), what are we to do?
We watch and pray.
We watch to hold them accountable for their actions and their votes during the next election. iVoterGuide and our partners will be tracking votes and compiling records so that you can make an informed choice – based upon actions, not just campaign rhetoric – the next time each of the legislators is on the ballot.
Next, we pray. In 1 Timothy 2, the Apostle Paul urges prayer for those in authority, so we can “live peaceful and quiet lives” which “pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved.”
Through our Pray for Leaders program, iVoterGuide offers an easy way for you to pray by name for individuals who represent you. As faithful stewards of our citizenship and in obedience with God’s Word, please join us as we turn our hearts to praying for our country and for our leaders.
